We at SikhiSidak got an opportunity to be part of Career Guidance Camp at Amritsar organized by DEEP (A Group of Young Sikhs who aimed to motivate youth towards Saabat Soorat Saroop and guide them properly in their career). The members of this group are fresh graduates and met us in our camp (Bachiyan Di Fulwari) on 5th Jan at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib and invited our team as "Counsellors" in Career Guidance Camp scheduled to be held on 21,22,23 January @ Amritsar.
Members of our group as (Harmeet Singh, Jasvinder Singh, Gunveen Singh, Channdeep Singh & Inderjeet Singh) went to be part of this camp. Our team reached there on 22nd Morning and camp was scheduled to start by 11AM. We were advised to deliever certain presentations. When we reached there we met Sardar Ankitpal Singh who was from AIR Force India and he was delievering presentation on "How to enter civil & defense services". It was an awsum presentation and motivated many to get into ARMY and serve the nation. After this, there was a presentation by Giani Nirmal Singh where he shared "Jeevan of Sahibzadey" with kids to make them understand that if we have clear goal in life we will will achieve the same. Then we were invited to deliever presentation, we choose to share presentation "Turban Pride" made by one of our volunteer Sardar Harsimran Singh on Sikh Achievers which is now available for download at http://www.sikhisidak.com/presentations.html. We tried to make it interactive by asking questions and giving chocolates as a gift on right answer. Every kid was excited to have that information on the slides. Many thanks to Harsimran Veerji for such a great effort. After our presentation we had FAQ session with kids so that they can share their concern/issues which was again a great experience. After Lunch we had sessions from personalities like Principal of GHPS School, Hardev Singh (Principal of Khalsa Senior Secondary School), Pritpal Singh Tuli (Writer of Book - Sikhs "The Supreme"), Jasvinder Singh(Advocate & Member SGPC) and this way Day 2 of the camp came to an end.
Day3 began again in similar fashion where-in it was started with Waheguru Simran. After that, there was a presentation by Sardar Gurbinder Singh(Member of DEEP) on Career Guidance which made kids understand their vision in life. After this ppt, our team was given an opportunity to share another presentation which we showed on Life & Achievements of Warren Buffet to make kids understand the value of life & money in real sense. After this presentation their was certain games orgainzed by DEEP followed by certain questionarie by team SikhiSidak. There were also many short lectures by Saabat Surat Qualified people during the day to deliever the message in right sense. An activity was organized by volunteers to make kids understand the basic principles of Active Listening, Acknowledgement, Time-Management, Team-Work & Leadership which generated an opportunity for every kid to participate & learn. In evening MCD Commissionor Mr. Kharbanda was invited as a chief guest where-in he also gave a lecture to the kids that how they should dream about their goals and work to achieve the same. It was an awsum lecture which infact not motivate the kids but all who were present there.
